At first glance you might think that this is nothing but an elegantly designed light. You would be right of course, but that is just the beginning.
FACT #1
No other halogen or LED has higher power, and the peak power is at the wavelength of 470 nanometers, perfect for composites. So curing time is faster than all other lights.
FACT #2
It's better than a cordless. The charger for a cordless occupies counter space and has the power cord draped from the counter to the wall socket. the CURE will never need a counter top for storage. With holders supplied it can be mounted anywhere on any unit, wall or cabinet. Your choice!
FACT #3
the CURE is the only light with two on/off buttons. They are opposite each other, so that you can cure uppers or lowers without a tortured finger position.
FACT #4
the CURE is the only light which allows you the option of step curing. You can switch from low to high power as you are curing.
FACT #5
If you think those facts are impressive wait until you use it, it's so light its like lifting air.

DESCRIPTION
The Cure is a LED dental curing light for the photo curing of dental composites,
sealants and adhesives.
ERGONOMIC FEATURES
a) Light weight
b) Shape resembles a high speed hand piece and can be held like one.
c) Can be mounted in same manner as a high speed hand piece. A hanger is supplied for use when needed.
d) Either of two switches will activate light allowing for choice of finger positions.
e) The Cure has smooth surfaces for easy cleaning.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
This L.E.D. has a narrow peak at 470nm and should only be used on dental
formulations containing camphorquinone as the photo initiator it is
contraindicated with other photo initiators. The practitioner should always
perform a test outside of the month if in doubt.
SAFTEY PRECAUTIONS
a) CAUTION: The light is provided in a non-sterile condition and must be
disinfected prior to patient contact.
CAUTION: This curing unit produces high output curing energy! A
significant increase in curing energy is possible compared with equipment
previously used. It is important to observe the following precautions and
procedures:
· Do not place light directly on or towards unprotected gingival or skin.
· Adjust the curing techniques in accordance with the increase in curing energy. Some examples are; decrease curing time, increase composite thickness, increase distance between light guide end and light cured materials.
b) CAUTION: Do not look directly at the light emitted form this curing unit.
Do not use this device without suitable protective eyewear for the operator,
assistant and patient. Suitable protective eyewear blocks all energy below
550 mm.

CURE TIMES
In one study, the average curing time of 2mm thick composites was 8 seconds, with light shades taking less and shades such as A4 and yellow taking longer. It is recommended that dentists run their own tests, using a sharp instrument to determine if the bottom section is as hard as the top.
LIGHT MEASUREMENT
To ensure proper curing, a radiometer should be used on a regular basis to measure the light intensity. There should be little variation with the time since the L.E.D. lifetime is extremely long. If the reading drops off, check to see if the lens is clear. If not, clean or replace it. Another thing to check is the radiometer calibration. If the output is significantly different than expected, one option is that the radiometer be returned to the manufacturer for calibration.
CLEANING/DISINFECTING
a) Thoroughly wipe off hand piece with cleaning solution or soap and water. Scrub with an instrument cleaning brush.
b) Disinfect by thoroughly wiping down with alcohol, phenolic or gluteraldeliyde disinfectants per the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions.
